We do not create user accounts. The check design you build is saved only in your browser's localStorage so it persists across the Stripe payment redirect — it is never transmitted to our servers unless you proceed to purchase.
If you give consent to analytics (see below), we collect anonymous usage events such as which editor fields you interact with, which themes you try, and whether a purchase was completed. After a successful purchase, if you have given consent, we also collect your email address (provided by Stripe) to associate your purchase with your session history in our analytics tool.
We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Analytics are off by default. When you first visit, a banner asks for your consent. If you decline, no analytics data is collected — ever. If you accept, we collect:

For visitors in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing analytics data is your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
We use localStorage (not cookies) for two purposes:
gc-analytics-consent — stores your analytics consent preference. Never expires unless you clear site data.giantcheck-pending — stores your check design so it survives the Stripe payment redirect. Not used for tracking.We do not set any third-party tracking cookies.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information.
Our API (AWS Lambda) logs request metadata — timestamps, HTTP status codes, and anonymised error traces — to AWS CloudWatch for operational monitoring. These logs are retained for 30 days and are not shared with third parties.
If you are in the EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, port, restrict processing of, or object to processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.
Categories of personal information we may collect (only with your consent): identifiers (email address), and internet or other electronic network activity (analytics events describing how you use the site).
